We participated in the 3rd DEEFA international exhibition

In the context of supporting research related to the Defense Industry, we were delighted to accept the invitation to participate as coordinators in the panel "Empowering Innovation: EU and NATO Opportunities for Defence and Security Companies" held on Wednesday 7 May alongside the international exhibition DEFEA-Defence Exhibition Athens at the Metropolitan Expo. 

The panel, coordinated by Dr. Spyros Arsenis, Head of NBG Business Innovation Development, was comprised of Ms. Nynke Tigchelaar, Head of Unit, Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space, European Commission, and Mr. David Ordonez, NATO Innovation Fund. The panel discussed issues related to the priorities of NATO and the EU in the technology sector, the role they play in the new innovation ecosystems (DIANA, NATO Innovation Fund), and the ways in which dual-use technologies are supported. Last, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of key infrastructures such as communications and energy and the innovative technologies that can be developed by security firms and the defense industry to protect them.
