We participated in the Panathenea 2025
NBG Business Seeds participated in Panathenea 2025, which was held for the fist time in Athens, from Thursday 7 May through to Friday 9 May. The festival was a vibrant forum for meeting and exchanging views, where the key role of cooperation across different sectors – such as technology, art, the business world, and innovation – was highlighted.
At the Panathenea 2025, on Wednesday 7 May, held in NBG's Karatzas Amphitheater, we co-organized with Microsoft the Microsoft AI Fintech Accelerator Demo Day, where startups from SE Europe had the opportunity to develop and promote advanced AI capabilities in the financial sector. Dr. Spyros Arsenis, Head of NBG Business Innovation Development, participated in the evaluation committee and in the discussion panel that followed, together with Alpha Bank, Eurobank, and Piraeus Bank executives.
We also hosted on Thursday 8 May in NBG's Karatzas Amphitheater, and on Friday 9 May at the Old (Small) Stock Exchange, the Athens Music Week, a key international music conference for SE Europe, which focused on the way new technologies are transforming the music industry. Ms Demie Goudoufa, Assistant General Manager of NBG Strategy and Sustainability participated in the event’s opening ceremony and welcomed the event organizers and participants.
Last, on Friday 9 May, we co-organized with Endaevor Greece and Mastercard the “The fintech playground: Where innovation meets finance”, which was held in the Atrium of the Melas Building, where entrepreurs and investors met and discussed topics related to Fintech, while the event closed with relaxed discussion and networking. Mr. Ernestos Panayiotou, General Manager of NBG Transformation, Strategy & International Activities, welcomed the participants to the event, and took part in the discussion together with Mr. Panagiotis Karabinis, Managing Director of Endeavor Greece, and Panagiotis Polydoros, Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus & Malta, at Mastercard. In the panel that followed “The fintech playground: Where innovation meets finance”, Charis Vlatakis, Head of NBG’s Group Business Strategy Sector welcomed Yannis Alvanopoulos GM & Country Manager at Mysten Labs, Antony Danone, Investor, and Dilek Dayinlarli, Managing Partner at ScaleX Ventures and talked about the way new technologies are transforming the field of financial services.
Throughout the duration of Panathenea 2025, NBG Business Seeds ran a booth at the Athens Conservatory, where Mr. George Nikolaou, NBG Business Innovation Development Subdivision, and Ms. Fotini Simou, Associate gave a presentation on the supporting actions provided by NBG Business Seeds to the Greek ecosystem.
